I got married in September of this year and i really like the bridesmaids dresses in there. Every time we went we were served promtly and they were all very helpful. I feel the dresses ordered were slightly too big but their seamstress took the dresses in perfectly for both the girls. So slightly too big is better than slightly too small.
Would recommend using them to anyone.

anne and bobbies is absoulty brilliant i dont understand all these bad comments, the staff were very friendly and helpfull, i felt that they didnt push me at all, they told me that my dress would be here just a few weeks before my wedding as i had left it till last minuite and it came a good two months before the wedding, i would totally recomend them as they were fantastic!

I found bridesmaid dresses I really liked which Anne and Bobbie's stocked, so went there. Each time we were in the shop it felt very rushed. When I collected the bridemaid dresses they were far too big. Two of my bridemaids tried on the smaller size (which the other bridesmaid had) and this fitted them. I was really disappointed that it appeared the dresses were measured incorrectly. When I phoned to ask if there was anything which could be done, they were really unhelpful and unsympathetic and said I could only swap them if paid full amount again or paid for all alterations myself. They did not seem bothered or willing to offer any help or compensation at all, saying we knew the sizes when measure - I would think that I could have trusted a company who are meant to be 'experts' in this.

Don't be put off with bad reviews!!!

I went dress shopping with my sister who is also getting married.

We were welcomed into the shop and the girls were friendly and relaxed whilst being helpful (but not pushy).

Ashley was amazing (and honest when i asked for her opinion) she helped me to pick out some dresses and I found my perfect dress as did my sister.

I paid a deposit and was then able to drop in to make regular payments to my dress. I have now picked up my dress and it is beautiful and I shall certainly popping back in with my pics.

I'd recommend to anyone!!

I bought my dress from this shop in 2008 for my wedding taking place in 2009. I thought the service was great, Laura who assisted me on my first visit to the shop, picked some dresses for me to try and I whittled it down to a few. She offered me a 20% discount on a dress when I finally had decided. I then called the shop the following week and booked my next appointment where I then took my Mum along to help me decide on "the one". Laura was a great help and we had plenty of time to choose and try dresses on. I picked my dress and it was then ordered from the store. I picked my dress up approx 4-5 months after this and used the dressmaker they recommend for sewing on a loop on the back of my dress for me. I had my dress almost a year in advance so there was no worries in terms of time for me at all. I found the service absolutely great!

the 3 bridesmaids went to collect their dresses - should have been a joyous occasion. my daughter left in tears after the rude assistant told her she had put on weight. the dress obviously too small and too short. we got our own dressmarker who took one look at dresses and said there was no way that any of the girls had correct size. have tried contacting shop but now thinking i will have to visit and ask how they will compensate me.

I went to anne and bobbies last october to have a look firstly i found it difficult to see full detail of dresses as they were bagged up,and very cramped together anyways i tried on a few styles then i found one that i liked but didnt feel it was "the one" but i felt pressured as another customer was due in for the next appointment so the girl was giving all sales techniques and because it was an ex sample dress i was getting it for a third of the price which they emphasised on so i put down 150 deposit left shop feeling not as ecstatic as i should have, less than 15hrs later after a sleeplesss night worrying it wasnt the one i emailed anne telling her and asking if there was any way of gettin deposit back as a good will gesture as the girl in shop said i had 14days to chenge my mind and since nothing had been ordered and couldnt have sold it after me anyway as shop was closed on a sunday.anne replied to my first few emails saying no to my money back but to transfer the money on to another dress but then i read reviewsand emailed her to say i didnt want to buy my dress from her anymore then she said to prove she is a good business she would transfer it to bridesmaids dresses to which i agreed, but since then i have emailed her on numerous occasions about various things and i have been completly ignored but she can happily take my money and not offer any service once the line has been signed money paid they DONT CARE would never recommend this shop, her shop must need my 150!

I bought my bridesmaids dresses from them. The size on the bags say 20 and 14 which is what I ordered but the dresses are sizes 18 and 12. They do not fit my bridesmaids. I now have less than 3 weeks to find a solution.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE !!!!! They appear to have tried their best to ruin the wedding by not telling me when my dress is due to arrive..... took 6 months to arrive when they promised 4 months, only made it with days to spare and due to this, had to buy another dress in case it didn't arrive

And they wanted all their money, of course........

Thy don't care - as soon as you sign the contract, it's money in the bank and they then start ignoring you

Ignore their initial customer service - this is just a hook to get your cash but there's every chance they'll ruin your wedding

Oh dear ladys, im starting to freak out about all these negative comments about Anne & Bobbies.
I went with my mum and sister and must say i thought they were great. Very helpful and even gave me a discount, however reading that mostly the poor service is after the dress has been ordered is worrying!!!
I have been calling them but cant seem to get anyone on the phone. I ordered my dress in Feb and was told it could take 6 months which was August. Its now the end of Sept!!!!!!
Will keep you posted!!!

I have to agree with alot of the negative reviews on this page. We went to Anne and Bobbies for bridesmaids dresses for my sisters wedding which was on the 3rd of July this year. They were very helpful when we went to pick to dresses which my sister had already seen. We all got fitted, but I was fitted as being a size 8 (I am normally a 12). We disputed this with the shop but they said as that was my measurements according to the chart the dress would fit me. We patiently waited 14 weeks for delivery of the dresses (3 weeks before the wedding) and were excited to go and try them on. The first bridesmaids dress fitted perfectly, then it came to me, the zip would only go half way up my back, they said i must have put weight on and that the dress could be altered to fit me.
We went to the lady who alters the dressses, Karen Rotchford, who was fantastic, but she said it was not possible to alter the dress to fit me.
We returned to the shop who said that they would give my sister her money back (not really an option 2 weeks before the wedding) or try and source the material. My sister was very upset by this stage and left it in their hands. She then spent 6 hours phoning round all the stockists of the dress to see if she could source one. She evetually did, she phoned anne and bobbies and told them another shop could get her the dress so why couldn't they. Eventually the dress arrived 8 days before the wedding. What a bunch of jokers, what a way to run a buisness.

After telling us, when we phoned them, not by them calling us, that the dress would be delivered in April then May then June and a final delivery date of the week before the wedding (and to be told, quite proudly, over the phone that "we've delivered dresses the day before the wedding") - we decided to dump this lot and go elsewhere.
No customer service
No communications and quite happy to leave you to do all the calling
No respect for the bride to be's feeling at a very stressful time
Expecting us to jump through hoops to suit them
All in all a terrible company, who, I'm glad to say, I will never have to deal with them again

Buy your dress from these comedians at your peril !!!!

An update to the review starting "This crowd have unbelievably poor customer service....." They can now pin down the delivery of the dress to the week beginning the 28th June so it could be the 3rd July and given that the wedding is on the 10th July, it's not leaving much room for any alterations, and this is assuming that it actually arrives on this date.
This is now more than 6 weeks late and they're blaming it on the volcanic ash cloud, I can't remeber the ash cloud causing 6 week delays anywhere else in the world !!
When I quizzed Ann about a contingency plan if the dress doesn't arrive her reply was "you can get ALL your money back or buy another dress"....... a much less than helpful attidute in my opinion.
As there is no trust left in this company, and I'm not convinved the dress will arrive at all, I'm off looking for another dress eslewhere this weekend.
I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone and if you do choose to use them, be prepared to receive poor customer service, non existant communications, a complete lack of compassion with respect to the bride-to-be's feelings and stress levels and be left with the impression that once you've signed your contract and paid your deposit, they then forget you and move on to the next unfortunate customer.

This crowd have unbelievably poor customer service, the wedding dress ordered in January is still not here (10th June) and they cannot tell us when it's going to arrive !! with only 4 weeks to the big day, all they will say is that "it will be here", but as they can't give us a delivery date, how can they say that. They originally said April, then the delivery slipped to late May then early June - I reckon it'll be delivered after the wedding.
All the dealings we've had with them have been less than satifactory (it took them 8 weeks to post out the receipt for the deposit for instance) and unless we phone them, there are no progress updates volunteered from their side, they seem quite happy to let us sit and worry.
If you're thinking about using them, think very carefully, they are unhelpful, unprofessional and really don't care a jot about keeping a very worried bride to be in the dark about the delivery of her dress.
I'll post updates as (or if !!!) they happen, but, going on past experiences to date, don't hold your breath for anything happening soon

It's a shame that other girl had a bad experience. I must say mine was the opposite. I went there after seeing other reviews. I got totally sick of the posh shops in Edinburgh asking me to try on size 10s when I am a 16. As if a 16 is a weird size. I actually cried after going to Pretty Woman in London road. It was all 10/12/14 and then they handed me a size 26 when I asked for a bigger size. I had no help trying on and the girl didn't have a clue. In Anne & Bobbie's, you have a private shop to pick dresses, they do all sizes and will help you in to any size. They dress I went for was one they picked. If you want some fawning all over you and telling you are a princess, maybe this is not the shop for you, for me it was exactly what I wanted. No sales talk, just plenty of one to one time and honest feedback. Ashley was lovely. I collect my dress soon and am 100% confident that it will be perfect. They even gave me a discount on it when I paid. I would recommend the place to anybody. I plan to buy my shoes, veil etc.. there.

The service was terrible - dress arrived 2 weeks later than we were told it was too short for my daughter (they failed to measure her height she is over 5ft 8)she had to wear shoes under 1 1/2 inch heels - her shoes were 3 inch! The bridesmaid dress was also too short - the same thing with shoes (new ones had to be bought). The underskirt was the wrong size also and had to be reordered this happened 4 weeks Staff were unhelpful. We went to the shop thinking they were professionals but they failed to measure correctly and failed to advise of different dress legnths available - even denied there were options in legnth til they discovered I had contacted dress supplier.
You may be lucky and have no problems with them but all I can advise is please beware they havent a clue!!
