Dating back to 1840, The Old Swan Hotel is one of Harrogate’s oldest and most cherished hotels.
The hotel’s Victorian splendour and traditional elegance is complimented today by a modern and contemporary environment. The hotel has recently had a full £8m refurbishment; all 136 bedrooms (including ten suites), eight banqueting rooms and all lounges and restaurants have benefited from a new light and stylish decor.

We can cater for up to 450 wedding guests in the Garden Room & Ballroom with the option to use any additional suites for drinks receptions, canapés or for evening celebrations.

Set within five acres of beautifully manicured gardens the hotel is a perfect choice for your wedding; the gardens at the front of the hotel are perfect for your ‘soon-to-be cherished’ group photographs whilst the lawns and ‘secret gardens’ at the rear are a wonderful backdrop for more intimate memories.

The ten bridal suites offer four poster beds, roll top baths and the sheer decadence that you deserve on your wedding day. Relaxation has never felt as wonderful as this…

Catering

Food is at the centre of all we do at The Old Swan Hotel and our freshly prepared food has made us famous. We source only the best produce available, which can be traced to its point of origin, including organic milk and Fairtrade Coffee etc.

Our chefs are true professionals who blend stringent quality standards with flair and imagination. The result is creative cuisine using only the freshest ingredients.

We have numerous wedding breakfast choices for your perusal; all designed and crafted to ensure they compliment every element of your day. Evening celebration dining can range from canapés, bacon sandwiches to wonderfully wholesome and tasty buffets. Don’t forget to select wines which compliment your menu selections too; an extensive wine list designed by our company sommelier is at hand. Our team are sent on wine appreciation courses where they are taught everything from the multitude of different grape varieties to the best wines suited to a particular dish.

We appreciate that this is your ‘big’ day and it should be as individual as you are; we therefore take the time to ensure that your catering options are bespoke and as tailored as the grooms’ attire!!

Packages

Ensuring we ‘surpass your wedding day expectations’ is our goal; to that end our wedding co-ordinator will arrange an initial showround of the numerous suites we have at the hotel for wedding breakfasts and celebrations. We want to get to know both the bride and groom and exactly how they want the “Big Day” to be.

The Garden Room & Ballroom are our most popular choices; they offer beautiful surroundings in which to celebrate your wedding day overlooking our splendid gardens.

The various options for wedding breakfasts all include welcome drinks (Pimms, Bucks Fizz, or Champagne), the option of canapés with welcome drinks and your choice of three, four or five course wedding breakfasts. A drink to toast the ‘happy couple’ and evening buffet can be included in the package.

Are you thinking of getting married during the week? (Monday-Thursday) We have launched a fantastic package for midweek weddings inclusive of room hire, welcome drink, three course wedding breakfast with two glasses of wine, a DJ for the evening celebration, Bacon sandwiches for evening guests and a bridal suite for the Bride & Groom. Minimum numbers are 75 guests. The cost for this package is £50.00 per head and is subject to availability.
